Making the decision to let our 10 year old live away from home was extremely hard, but we knew it was the best thing we could do for him. We saw the very positive changes in him over the previous few months he had spent in Anderson’s day program and we truly understood that they could provide the level of structure and continuity that is so crucial for children with autism, something that we could not achieve at home.

He has grown up to be a wonderful young man with a great disposition thanks to Anderson Center’s commitment to LifeLong Learning℠.

It’s just such rewarding work, and it’s so vital, so needed.

I chose Anderson Center for my son after touring numerous schools in the tri-state area. It was clearly the best fit. I was enchanted with the way the staff interacted with the students. The Children’s Program is a safe, good, instructional program for him and the Anderson Center team loves him just like a family member.

I’m so honored to have this opportunity, I had been looking for my calling for quite a while and I have definitely found it here at Anderson Center. I share a strong sense of trust with the students and have found a creative way to help them feel good about themselves.

Just over 30 years ago, I made the hardest decision of my life and moved my eight year old son with autism to what was then Anderson School. I knew he could benefit greatly from immersion in a program devoted to his specific needs. Of course, I’ve remained very active in his life and am thrilled that his progression over the years at Anderson Center has been amazing. The staff is made up of such special people with a unique sense of dedication to the individuals they serve. And, their expertise, dedication and hard work is rewarded every day in the difference they make in the lives of the students and adults.

I knew a little about Anderson Center before we started the construction project there but the transition that’s taking place there and the genuine care and support the staff gives the children... that’s something to see.

Sometimes people are not accepting of someone with challenges they don’t have the patience. But that’s not the way it is at Anderson Center. I’ve gotten to know the staff so well over the years and I couldn’t rate them any higher than I do. They do a tremendous job dealing with the varied needs of individuals and I’m grateful that, as an adult, that my son can still benefit from their care.

Fabulous is one word that sums up my experience at Anderson Center for Autism. I travel to two to three cities per week so I have a good sense of autism services and I’d be hard pressed to think of a center that is more comprehensive or dedicated. I am very impressed by the passion shared by Neil Pollack and the Executive Team – and the faculty is tremendous. Their creativity and vision is so evident and it manifests itself in the Center delivering what’s best for all involved. From children to adults, there’s a place for everyone at ACA.

Mark Roithmayr, Former President of Autism Speaks

Anderson Center responds immediately and consistently. The well trained Anderson staff understands the need for boundaries and compartmentalization. Their emphasis is always on the welfare of the client not the program, unlike some other organizations. As epidemic numbers of children with autism reach adulthood, we need forward thinkers. Anderson demonstrates a unique understanding of this aging population. It is a vital organization that is constantly growing and seeking out new resources. Their commitment to LifeLong Learning is a wonderfully evolving philosophy and one that they actually make a reality instead of just talking about it. And as a parent, I can only say I am thrilled that my child has the opportunity to be a part of it!

Anderson Center, often silently, provides a remarkable service to the community, helping so many of those with special needs function in the often-difficult world that we live in. Their mission is endless and their legacy will be known to many for years to come. They touch the lives of children and adults through their caring efforts. We are always excited to be a part of their events and value the recognition they have given us.
