Philanthropic Brew to Raise Awareness and Funds for Anderson Center for Autism

March 06, 2017

Poughkeepsie, New York…Anderson Center for Autism and Mill House Brewing Company announced plans to once again collaborate in honor of Autism Awareness Month this April as the highly-anticipated “Mr. Anderson Ale” is released for the public to enjoy. The unique brew, first developed by Jamie Bishop and Larry Stock of Mill House Brewing, is a nod to Anderson’s long history and to its continued work in optimizing quality of life for individuals with Autism.

According to Jamie Bishop, “the brew honors the Scottish heritage of Victor V. Anderson, who founded the organization in 1924. His grandson, Vance Gage, was even our honorary brewmaster when we created the first batch, which was not only fun, but served to remind us of his grandfather’s legacy and how the organization continues to grow and expand upon that legacy.”

The ale is described as being smooth and malty, and according to Bishop, “really captures signature Scottish flavors. But most importantly, Bishop adds, “we are helping a local organization, and that is the best part of this brew.”

“We are so grateful to local businesses like Mill House Brewing Company who are so committed to our cause,” said Anderson Foundation director Eliza Bozenski. “We love unique projects like this that not only raise awareness and much-needed funds, but that bring people together.”

$1 of every pint sold by Mill House Brewing Company during April (Autism Awareness Month) will be donated to Anderson Center for Autism.
