Autism Awareness Month at Anderson Center for Autism

April 20, 2015

Businesses raise awareness, funds for autism — April is Autism Awareness month and three local businesses have found creative ways to raise awareness while they raise funds to assist the work of Anderson Center for Autism in Staatsburg.

Eliza Bozenski, director of agency affairs at Anderson, praised the businesses for their generosity. “Anderson Center for Autism is proud to partner with these forward-thinking businesses: Pine Bush Yoga, Hannoush Jewelers and Mill House Brewing Company. We encourage everyone to support their work, and their fundraising efforts during Autism Awareness Month.”

Mill House Brewing Company in Poughkeepsie recently launched a Scottish style ale called Mr. Anderson, and will donate $1 from each glass of this special ale sold through the month of April.

Hannoush Jewelers in the Poughkeepsie Galleria will donate $50 for each Yankees win this season. “If the Yankees win only half of their games this season that means Anderson will receive more than $4,000 from our friends at Hannoush,” said Bozenski.

Pine Bush Yoga, 90 Main St., Pine Bush, will contribute proceeds from their “Pay What You Want” Friday night yoga class and are raffling class passes at $1 a ticket. On May 1, the yoga studio will host a “Yoga for ACA” benefit with acoustic music, dance, refreshments and unconventional yoga for a $15 fee. For more information visit: Facebook.com/pinebushyoga.
