Anderson Center for Autism Names William J. Sammis its New Chief Financial Officer

Staatsburg, NY…Anderson Center for Autism today announced that William J. Sammis, who was most recently the Chief Executive Officer for Crystal Run Village, Inc.,  has been appointed Anderson’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a start date of November 11, 2024.

A lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley, Anderson Center for Autism’s new CFO, who currently lives in Tillson, NY, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from SUNY New Paltz and a Master’s of Business Administration in Public Administration from the University of Phoenix. In addition to his experience as CEO for Crystal Run Village, his career has included leadership positions at organizations such as Wraparound Services of the Hudson Valley, Inc., New Horizons Resources, Inc., and Arc of Mid-Hudson.

Sammis has also been a member of the Financial Management Association of Rehabilitation Facilities since 1992, for whom he held the role of president from 2002-2007. He was also a member of the Pine Bush School District Audit Committee from 2009-2021, which he chaired from 2019-2021.

Anderson Center for Autism, which is currently celebrating its Centennial year, provides educational, vocational, residential, clinical, and consulting/training services designed to carry out its mission of “optimizing the quality of life for individuals with autism.” The nonprofit organization, which employs approximately 900 people, is funded through a combination of private donations, public funds, and grants.

As Chief Financial Officer, Sammis will be responsible for managing Anderson’s budget and revenue streams, overseeing investment and financing strategies, and ensuring ongoing fiscal responsibility, among other tasks.

Sammis added, “I am extremely excited to contribute towards Anderson’s long history of success and innovation. Having spent 33 years of my career supporting people with developmental disabilities, it is an honor to join one of leading organizations in this field. I hope that my contributions will help lead to a better quality of life for people with autism.”
