August 19, 2024 Albany, NY and Staatsburg, NY….. Anderson Center for Autism today announced details of its Third Annual Resources for Autism & IDD Information Sharing EXPO, which will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Free of charge and open to the public, the event will be held from 4-7pm that day at Apex Entertainment, 1 Crossgates Mall Road, Albany, NY, 12203.
Said Patrick Paul, CEO/Executive Director of Anderson Center for Autism: “As we celebrate Anderson Center for Autism’s Centennial this year, we’ve been reflecting on the tremendous strides that have been made in our field. The Resources for Autism & IDD Information Sharing EXPO is a direct reflection of that progress; we’re seeing more and more services available that are supporting the growing population of autistic and neurodivergent people. This event allows families, caregivers, and our colleagues to learn about many different organizations and agencies doing important work right here in our region – and they are reminded that they are not alone; they can assemble just the right team to help them navigate all stages of life.”

Anderson Center for Autism, founded 100 years ago in 1924, offers evidence-based, award-winning educational, vocational, residential, and consultation/training services to people from all over the globe. Based in Staatsburg, New York, Anderson also runs The Anderson Center Clinic and Early Learning Academy in Latham, Anderson Early Learning Academy in Pine Plains, NY, and several day-hab centers throughout the Hudson Valley region. The organization has also developed collaborations with SUNY Empire and other Albany-area entities and community leaders over the years.
In addition to Anderson Center for Autism, organizations such as The Anderson Center Clinic (which is organizing a sensory-friendly space onsite at the event sponsored by Wilcenski Pleat Law), Maria College, Blue Path Service Dogs, Autism Society Greater Hudson Region, and National Alliance on Mental Illness, will have booth space, among others.
Knowledge Session Presenters will include representatives from New York Housing Resource Center and Transitions, along with others yet to be announced.
Schober said: “Since inception, the vision for the Resources for Autism & IDD Information Sharing EXPO has been to connect families and providers in the hopes of ensuring more comprehensive service delivery. In just a few hours, attendees can walk through one space and learn about all kinds of resources and options that will maximize the potential of the people with autism and IDD in their lives. Beyond that, we’re also raising awareness among the individuals, schools, groups, and businesses who make up the broader community – which is key to cultivating greater acceptance. So this is more than an event for all of us at Anderson Center for Autism – it is part of a bigger movement; we are proud to be part of it and taking the lead where we can.”
