Dutchess County Grants $2 Million to Local Nonprofits, Benefiting Youth and Mental Health Programs

December 28, 2023

Dutchess County in New York has granted $1.98 million to 32 programs through its 2024 Agency Partner Grant (APG) Program. The APG Program, in its 12th year, provides funding to local nonprofit organizations. The grants are given based on the organization’s ability to meet a community need. The APG Program supports various community needs such as youth development and mental health.

In addition to the $1.5 million from the APG program, an extra $484,880 was granted by the Department of Community and Family Services and the Department of Behavioral and Community Health. These funds were also given through the APG grant process. County Executive William F.X. O’Neil thanked the Dutchess County Legislature for its support of the APG program.

The Anderson Center for Autism’s Tik Talk program, which received $22,810, is one of the projects funded by the 2024 APG Program. The program helps middle and high school students with special needs develop social skills. The Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh, Inc. received $110,864 for Project Learn, an afterschool program in the City of Poughkeepsie. Catholic Charities Community Services of Dutchess County received two grants for a Homeless Prevention Program and a Senior Medical Transportation program.

Other recipients include Community Based Services, Inc., which received funds for Transition Planning for Students with Disabilities, and Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County, which received grants for various programs. These include the 4-H Youth Development program, the Green Teen and No Child Left Inside program, the Parenting and Support Education (PASE) program, and the Relatives As Parents Program (RAPP).
