Anderson Center for Autism Raises $65,000 at Golf Outing

June 29, 2017

STAATSBURG – Over 140 business leaders, philanthropists, and family members recently attended the Anderson Golf Classic held at The Links at Union Vale in the Town of Union Vale, collectively raising $65,000 for the organization.

Part of the larger fundraising strategy for Anderson Center for Autism, the event supports programs and services critical to maximizing potential for people with Autism.

Says Kevin Kollar, member of the Board of Directors for Anderson, “The Golf Classic is a great opportunity for families and friends to support the foundation, learn about how we are improving the quality of life for our students and adults, and connect with dedicated staff. It is a fun day that has real impact.”

The event featured raffles, cocktails, awards, and dinner.

Winners of the outing were announced as follows:

  • 1st place: Bob Shoemaker, David Gill, Russ Haight, and Jim Hegstetter (57)
  • 2nd place: Bill DeFancesco, Brian Mulvey, Mike Courtney, and Mike Spicer (58)
  • Closest to the Pin (women): Greer Rychcik (5’)
  • Closest to the Pin (men): Mike Richards (2’)
  • Longest Drive (women): Roxanne Myen
  • Longest Drive (men): Bill Myers

“We are ever in awe of the growing support we are getting from our community. With 1 in 68 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, almost everyone knows someone who has been touched – but with all the causes out there, it is really moving to see people give all they can to further our mission.”

The next scheduled event to raise funds for Anderson Center for Autism is the gala, scheduled for Saturday, October 7 at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie.
