Building a culture of inclusivity, accessibility, diversity, and opportunity begins with proper education. Anderson Center Consulting & Training (ACCT) is deeply committed to empowering all service and training recipients with tools and strategies that can help carry out Anderson Center for Autism’s mission of optimizing the quality of life for people with autism.
Within an Applied Behavior Analytic framework, evidence-based practice guides our assessment, treatment, and training processes. Our team includes Licensed/Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Behavior Specialists, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Masters Level Special Educators, and Certified School Psychologists.

Educational Consultation Services
Given the increasing number of people diagnosed with ASD, ACCT provides school districts, preschools, service providers, agencies, and private schools, a range of consultation services that include individual consultation, program design, and professional development and training.
Student Specific Services
- Initial Assessment for Universal Supports
- Meeting student’s IEP recommendations
- Observations of student with feedback/recommendations to staff (classroom, related services, etc.)
- Completion of FBA
- Support in the completion of FBA and development of BIP with training
- Parent Counseling & Training to enable parents to better understand their child’s diagnoses and actively participate with their child’s CSE Team
Program-Based Services
- Assisting administrators, faculty and staff in supporting the emotional and social well-being of students
- Coaching and Mentoring
- Baseline and progress monitoring data
- In-classroom modeling, coaching and feedback with a goal of increasing staff skill capacity and overall integrity in sustaining classroom components
- Administrative Support Services
- Supporting districts and agencies in building internal capacity
- Professional development training designed for administrators
- Support in developing practices and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
Professional Development & Training
Trainings are available in live virtual, pre-recorded webinar, and in-person formats. Select trainings are also available in asynchronous online format. Topics include: supporting autistic and neurodivergent students, creating and implementing FBAs and BIPs in alignment with NYS standards, essential classroom components, executive functioning skills, and transporting students with special needs. Trainings are designed for administrators, teachers, teaching assistants, paraprofessionals, and staff members. Workshops and trainings can be designed to meet each district’s specific needs. Family Services
Are you experiencing the unique journey of raising an autistic or neurodivergent child?
You are NOT alone. We’re here to help.
Our team at Anderson Center Consulting and Training offers onsite and online programs designed to give you the tools needed to better manage behavioral concerns, communication difficulties, support social skills and executive function development, build a plan for community integration, and so much more.
We can also provide assistance as you work with your school district to develop an educational plan for your autistic or neurodivergent student. Our team of certified school psychologists can complete your child’s psychological evaluation and social history, and liaise with special education personnel to ensure that needs are being met.
AND…..you can also consider Anderson Center Consulting and Training’s Family Support Services (FSS). This short-term, in-home program helps families build skills that help unlock potential and maximize success. From promoting independence and positive family interaction to understanding behavioral challenges and improving community integration experiences, FSS can make the difference. It is also offered at NO COST to eligible families.
To be eligible for FSS, your loved one must:
*Be diagnosed with a developmental disability
*Meet the criteria of Office of People with Developmental Disabilities
*Reside with family members in Dutchess, Columbia, Greene, Putnam, or Ulster County
*Include this program on the self-direction budget (prior to being served) if your family is approved for self-direction services
Parent/Caregiver Training
We offer trainings designed specifically to provide parents and caregivers the skills and strategies they require to best support their child’s and family’s needs. Trainings were designed in response to topics requested by parents/caregivers. All trainings include strategies and tips as well as tools and free resources.
Training topics include:
- Understanding the functions of behavior and strategies for addressing challenging behavior
- Toileting skills
- Developing and utilizing visual supports
- Learning through play
- Homework strategies
- Executive function skills
- Preparing for an IEP meeting
- Supporting children with transportation training to and from school
