ANDERSON CENTER FOR AUTISM CELEBRATES
RETIRING CEO NEIL J. POLLACK AT
15TH ANNUAL GALA

The Anderson Center for Autism Gala to be held at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie, NY on December 3rd from 6pm to 10pm will to be a night not to be missed. As friends, board members and staff of the 92-year-old organization gather together for cocktails, auctions, dinner, and dancing, it will be a night to honor and share memories of the unique leadership qualities of outgoing CEO, Neil Pollack. “We encourage everyone who’s worked with Neil, families of the individuals we serve, those who have served with him on committees, and his many friends in the non-profit and wider community to join us in giving him a rousing send off, “ said Eliza Bozenski, Director of Anderson Foundation for Autism. Widely considered a pioneer and thought leader, Neil Pollack joined Anderson Center for Autism as CEO/Executive Director in January 2001 at a critical period, laying the groundwork for total revitalization and leading to a focus of serving individuals with autism spectrum disorder. While at Anderson he has led a remarkable expansion in capacity, a significant increase in staff, and numerous innovations in management, treatment and ways of optimizing the quality of life of people with ASD.

Neil Pollack is a founding member and third president of the New York State Association of Community and Residential Agencies [NYSACRA]. He has been involved in many other community organizations committees and trusteeships, and has lectured on a variety of managerial and human service topics to legislators, college students, and human service professionals.

Frank Synan, Chair of Anderson Center for Autism’s Board of Trustees says of Pollack, “Neil has been an exceptional leader, he has fulfilled his vision for Anderson and we are the fortunate beneficiaries, as are the individuals that we serve and their families. Neil has built a firm foundation for his successor, Patrick Paul, to build upon.” David Melby, also a past Chair of Anderson’s Board, comments, “There could not be a more appropriate legacy of Neil’s service than the Neil J. Pollack Scholarship Fund, offered to aid Anderson staff members in furthering their education. Neil has been a staunch advocate for staff advancement and opportunities, which is why it is the perfect way to commemorate his service to our great organization.”
