Anderson Center For Autism Appoints New Director of Human Resources

Staatsburg, New York…Anderson Center for Autism announced today that it has named resident of Staatsburg and longtime member of its team, Anne Jordan, the new Director of Human Resources. Jordan will develop, coordinate, and lead all activities for the organization’s Human Resources department, including employee relations, professional development initiatives, recruitment efforts, hiring, benefits packages, and Anderson’s talent strategy for its roster of nearly 900 employees.

Jordan, who obtained a Master of Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University (2013), is a graduate of Empire State College (Bachelor of Science, Business Management and Economics, 2012; Advanced Certificate in Human Resource Management, 2015). A Certified Professional with Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), the newest member of Anderson’s leadership team also holds certification as a public librarian with the New York State Education Department. Anne also completed an Executive Leadership Program sponsored by the Dutchess County Chamber Foundation.

Jordan previously served as Anderson Center for Autism’s Assistant Director of Human Resources (2017-2020), responsible for day-to-day operations of the department, assisting in creating and implementing departmental plans, and overseeing benefits, employee relations, recruitment, retention, and staff development. Prior to that, Jordan was the Employee Relations Coordinator (2015-2017), Professional Assistant for Corporate Compliance (2009-2015), and before coming to Anderson, was the library director at Staatsburg Library.

The announcement of Jordan’s promotion follows the news that Anderson’s Chief Human Resource Officer, Bill Wilson, will retire from his position in February, 2021. Wilson has served the Anderson team since 1979 when he was tasked with the responsibility of creating the Human Resources Department, which required the creation of an employee handbook, benefits program, and wage and salary administration system. Wilson grew the department to a 14-person team over his tenure.

“We are very grateful for Bill’s leadership and service over the years; he has made a valuable, lasting contribution by positioning this department – and our entire organization – for ongoing success in the years to come. We will miss him, but we wish him much happiness and good health as he enjoys his well-deserved retirement,” said Paul.

Anderson Center for Autism is a nonprofit organization based in Staatsburg that provides educational, vocational, and residential services to people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. According to the Centers for Disease Control (2020), 1 in 54 people are diagnosed with the neurological disorder, which presents with communication, social, and sensory processing challenges.
